Thank you for staying up-to-date with the latest news for our school. Here is what we have for you this week! Please remember that next Thursday is November 11th and there will be no school in recognition of Remembrance Day
Our first Subway day of the year took place this past Thursday. Many sandwiches were delivered to happy faces in classes (and in the staff room!). Thank you very much to our PAC volunteers for organizing this for our students (and staff).
If you are using the hot lunch ordering system for the first time, please visit the link above and then choose ‘click here to register’. When asked for a code enter SUBWAY.
Later this afternoon (Friday, November 5th) our school will run a ‘Hold and Secure’ drill. This is a school safety drill so that we can practice keeping students safe in case of an emergency outdoors and nearby the school. Generally speaking, the exterior doors are locked and students remain in the building. However, there is no requirement to shelter in place when inside the building, and instruction continues normally. We are running our drill at 2:50 PM and it should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. We will ring any alarms or bells. The start and end of the drill will be made through a general announcement within the school building.
In recognition of Remembrance Day, we are holding our second virtual assembly of the year. This time it will take place entirely within the school on our local networks, starting at 10:50 on Wednesday, November 10th. As mentioned in our introduction, please remember that there is no school on November 11th.
Our next PAC meeting will be online on November 10th. All parents are welcome to attend. Here are the links to the agenda for the next meeting, and the minutes of the last one in October. To participate, please use the following connection information:

Last year, it wasn’t possible to offer student photos to our families due to the public health measures in place for schools. Those same measures currently prevent us from bringing in visitors and photographers to the school this year. However, we do have Mme. Allison who has graciously volunteered to be our photographer for this year. We are still working out the details, but our plan is to provide each interested family with school pictures of their children, and also their classes. Details to follow in the next few weeks, but we are excited to share this news with you.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Tuesday November 23rd and Wednesday the 24th. As with last year, conferences will occur online only and your child’s teacher will provide you with further details on how they will be managing the conference itself (for example, via Google Meets or Zoom).
Please book your appointment time online. The window to start booking your appointments opens this evening (Friday, November 5th) at 6:00 PM. Last week, we posted instructions on how to access the system, and have reposted them here for your convenience.
