Teaching students how to win is valuable, but teaching kids how to lose may be even more important - Author Unknow

Playing sports and staying active can help build self-esteem, keep students mentally and physically fit, and teach students to cooperate with each other within the confines of competition. At J.H. Sissons competition is valued and winning is celebrated, but students are also taught that feeling good about accomplishing a goal is just as important as beating somebody else. At our school we strive to give students the social benefits of playing sports: improved self-esteem and a comfort and understanding of who they are.  It is our belief that if students learn this, they will treat each other better.
